Very good photos indeed, I lived in that area but didnot know it is such beautiful.
On saraiki sooba, for sooba people have to sacrifice and struggle. M A durani like leader wont be able to make this happen
hey,Mr.Nutkani.mind your language,u r having your own province ,Balochistan, for balochi people ,then y u living in punjab, leave these saraiki areas and live in ypur own province ,ok
Sara Khan I request you don,t use harsh and immoral words being saraiki it is against the saraiki culture if some one is commitng mistake you should not repeating Khan as every one knows that both the Baloch and Saraiki are underdominted by some lobbi so kindly requsting you that don.t fight only promote your culture language and area and your motto should be saraikistan not fight with balouch people as they are power less like saraiki
It’s a real shame to fight on such type of foolish issues…

Zafar Malik, sb. let’s not put this thing to provoke our sentiments of our brothers and sisters who are baloch. fact is our enemy wants to fan these differences but if we are wise enough we need to calm the situation down by not highlthing the differences among ethnicties of our countries but make it as bond which our country unite us all and that is Pakistan. I love Balochistan., KPK, Punjab, seraikistan, Hazara, Kashmir, FATA and each n eevry place of this beautiful country.God bless .
What a fool we are,Those bastards rulers known as landlords rule this country for 65 years with traitor army generals, & know they don’t see anymore leading future those areas that is why they ask & making fool of people of Pakistan just like Mujeeb-u-rehman of Bangal he tried to merge bangal with india after got independence. My ? is that as we are Muslims and all know know Allah is the true owner of this universe & PBUH has clearly given us the path how to live & divide what is naturally gifted to humans. Its so simple & as Muslim we must believe in Quran, hadees & sunnah We will find our answer & rights those bastards are playing divide & rule just like british ,All those bastard traitor landlords ruled from the day Pakistan came in to existence & what they have delivered nothing just divide Muslim nation in to sindhi.bunglali, baloch, punjabi, pathan & mahajir.Remember the words you have read in books enemy (one) can break single stick easily but will not break bundle of bricks & as Muslim we are brothers & sisters we must protect all Muslim ummah not just our our provincial tribes or our country. We must stand for our brothers weather they are in Baluchistan, Philistine,Kashmir, Chechnya or Cyprus(part of Turkey) or Afghanistan & kill those bastard munafiq who support Kuffar. We know normal innocent 90 % of not just pakistanies but also all of Muslim Nation want to be unite once again just like the time of our PBUH & Khulfah , We all are suffering from the traitors & Munafiq in the form of generals who were loyal to british once then given to Pakistan,Landlord or bureaucracy & westren countries who support them rad the books CIA & pantagone wrote on landlords system that this system will secure there entrust in All Muslim states & if people began to follow Islam & PBUH there will be boom of Islmization in the world & Muslims will fight back for justice in the world. So brother think twice before speak I love each & every Muslim in this World as we are brothers & sisters be united to fight cruel system supported by kafers & Munafiq people in Muslims.

Friend. You have posted very beautiful Samasatta pictures. My old home. Fourth picture from the top with 3 dome building looks like my childhood home. This dome building housed 3 railway officials. As you look at the photo one on the right does not have dome my home. Middle home has 2 domes and the left house had one dome.I lived in this house 1933 to 1949. Samasatta Railway school was up to 8th grade and for matric you went to Bahawalpur. There were 4 dome buildings near the railway station , the Dak Bungalow, my home, then another dome building next to my home which housed 4 families, and then the ticket ghar,1st class waiting room across the platform. I live overseas now. If available please send latest Samasatta pictures.
God Bless
I love city hockey club sama satta

nice i mis sama satta $ school days >>>>>>
I was not born in Samma Satta but my father moved to the place in my pre-school days somewhere in the 1950s. Actually I do not have too many vivid memories of the period when my parents moved from Lahore to this sleepy little town. I relish my childhood period spent in this place before I was sent to a boarding school up in the mountainous north. That was before I entered my teens. My father was also posted out to Karachi division. I have always remembered Samma Satta in good stead because that was my childhood place and whatever I read in Radiant Way Readers, I tried to apply to the local landscape. Recently I came across an article ‘The nightingales of Multan’ (The Dawn April 30) wherein it was disclosed that famous Indian Singer/actor K.L.Saigal worked as a time keeper in Samma Satta railway establishment before he he moved to Bombay prior to partition of the subcontinent. That inspired me to search for the place on the net and am happy that the place has developed substantially with a number of educational institutions and that some old sons of the soil are also taking keen interest in its development. I will try to re-visit my childhood place whenever I find some time. I am a busy professional based in Lahore and Samma Satta is well over 300 km away so it has to be a well planned trip. The planned sojourn is on the cards anyway.

After having written my comments on Samma Satta a couple of days earlier I went through the write ups of other residents/ex-residents of the town and found some of them interesting and worth a reply. The one by Mr. MS Baluch is interesting in many respects; his description of the domed buildings and travelling to Bahawalpur for secondary school education in the absence of a facility in the town. I can vouch for both. The house he says he lived in is just next to the railway fence guarding the station premises and some of my friends/acquaintances lived there and I had the opportunity of visiting the houses umpteen times. Our school was up to grade eight at the time and boys had to commute to neighboring Bahawalpur for high school admissions. I was in junior school but always fancied the idea of travelling to Bahawalpur on daily basis by train. I thought it would be so much adventure and entertainment to be senior enough to travel by train at my own and that too on daily basis. My father had other ideas though and started reckoning for a boarding school, Sadiq Public School, Cadet College Hassan Abdal and Military College Jehlum were among the few institutions he had short listed. I ended up in Abbottabad Public School instead.
A picture of the sign board of Railway Dak Bunglow(Rest House) reminded me of my love for flowers which were scanty in this dry, scorching railway settlement. The rest house was well kept with beds of flowers of Merry Gold. Tress passing through the premises was not allowed. I would dodge the keeper of the building entering through the main gate facing the railway track and exit by the side door, picking a few flowers on the way. It was my routine whenever I happened to pass that way. Ultimately the keeper also came to know about my ‘adventures’ and my father’s position and started looking askance.
The Green Park opposite the school was another place I loved because of its green environs and carried my lunch break snacks there. My father used to play tennis in the club nearby and I always looked forward to the discarded tennis balls which I got aplenty and used them so carelessly that once when our house sewage drain was dug up for removal of blockage, nearly half a dozen of them were found lining the drain.
There was not much to enjoy in the town other than outdoor sports. Hockey, football, cricket, pithoo and hide and seek were the games we enjoyed. Eating out was not the norm in those days nor were the eateries available around. There were some small time vendors selling, dahi vadas, chana chaat and gol gappas outside the school during the break and I was always in a fix as to what to eat and what to leave because of limited pocket money. Ice lollies and pind khajoor(small local dates0 were sometimes vended outside our houses under the blazing mid day sun and we hardly ever let go a chance to buy them. Life was really enjoyable and still worth reminiscing.
Life at the boarding school, the professional college and later in the UK was wonderful but the childhood memories of Samma Satta still haunt me.
If some one likes to share his memories of the place, he is welcome to get in touch with me through my email account:
